Duc-ee's
VR Game | Cute-Creepy-Crazy
Out of luc-ee? Come to Duc-ee’s!
In this fine establishment, we don’t believe in walking over and hand-delivering food to our customers. Instead, our server (that’s you!) frisbee-throws plates to each table. Our novel approach is both more entertaining for everyone and perhaps one could even say it’s safer for our valued employees, given the nature of our customers…

Design Goal
As the artist of the team, I chose a cute and cozy aesthetic as the default, and let the game unexpectedly transforms into a creepy and chaotic mode when players perform poorly.
The goal I set, jokingly, is 'giving players a PTSD'.
Character Design
Our customers are lovely animals that loves wearing colorful ruffs with shiny pendants. However, rumors have it that most of them are bad tempered and may even go crazy if left waiting for too long! Anger, known as “angy” in Duc-ee’s universe, could drive the cutest customers into unnamable monsters. Still, personality and degree of patience differ among different customers. (shorter, explicit)
Level Design
The story takes place in a fast food restaurant called Duc-ee’s! All furniture are designed and modeled both to reflect the Duc-ee’s theme and enhance VR experience.
UI/UX Design
Our central goal is to fully engage our players in the 3D environment as well as our story. Therefore, we abandoned conventional 2D UI elements (e.g. bar, number, button) and utilized 3D in-place elements instead.
Game Flow
The major game play is as simple as grabbing and throwing food to serve customers. Yet you need to be familiar with your customer’s temper to be competent for the job. In general, this is a relaxing game that you can enjoy regardless of your performance.
Easter Eggs
We believe that a game without Easter Eggs is incomplete!
